Jay Ostia-MS, LAT, ATC

Jay is the mind behind the development of all the product lines behind Nexus.
He got his BSAT from Temple University and his post professional masters degree from the University of South Florida.
Design was something that he was interested in for some time, but couldn’t really pursue it until he took the risk of starting Nexus back in 2021 with virtually nothing. Jay practically grew up drawing as a child, but really took a more serious step as an art major back in college, but the contemporary style didn’t suit well for him, so he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve to get away from art and ultimately pursue having a role in the military that was always desired as well.
Over his first few years practicing as an athletic trainer in the Tampa Bay Area, he discovered that were was a huge gap in the gear market that needed improvement. Thus prompting him to get back into the artistic side and designing the infamous “Deadbug”.
Outside of the sports medicine space, he enjoys spending time with his amazing wife and 3 young children. For hobbies, he enjoys free diving the Florida springs, beaching it up, and planning big trips back to his beloved family’s home of the Philippine Islands.

Lauren Mayo, our dedicated Invoicing & Special Projects specialist and special projects manager at Nexus Sports Medicine. She received her BS.Ed. in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia, her MS in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida, and also holds her Certified Strength and Conditioning Certification.
With multiple years of invaluable experience at Nexus, Lauren has proven herself to be an integral part of our team. In her role, Lauren ensures our clients receive top-notch service, handling orders with precision and efficiency. Simultaneously, she undertakes unique initiatives, contributing to the continuous growth and innovation here at Nexus.
As a certified Athletic Trainer, she also works as a PRN Coordinator and is on staff as Adjunct Faculty at the University of South Florida. Beyond the professional realm, Lauren embraces a life full of adventures with her one-year-old son, Wade. Their enthusiasm for the Florida sun extends to the water, where she enjoys boat rides with her husband, finding joy in the balance between work and family.

Maria Morrison-MS, LAT, ATC

Originally from Albany, NY, Maria moved to Philadelphia to pursue her Master’s in Athletic Training from Thomas Jefferson University. Her role with Nexus is Brand and Partnership development.
She is the person behind the scenes to bring Nexus products into MSAT programs and healthcare organizations all over the country. Maria‘s passion lies in cultivating connections and facilitating growth, both in her professional endeavors and personal pursuits.
When she’s not busy as an athletic trainer at a private high school in Philadelphia, Maria enjoys immersing herself in the city’s culinary scene and expanding her network at various conferences and events.
Lorah Heald-MAT, LAT, ATC

Lorah, born in Florida but raised in Oklahoma, was an avid swimmer growing up. Being fully immersed in the sport, Lorah was a swimmer, swim instructor, lifeguard, and swim coach for novice and beginner swimmers wanting to get into competitive swimming. After realizing her love for all things sports related, she received her Bachelor’s in Health and Exercise Science at the University of Oklahoma and her masters in Athletic Training at Oklahoma State University. She moved to Florida after getting her Masters in Athletic Training to work in the high school setting.
Lorah’s role at Nexus is providing shipping and product customer service and order fulfillment.
In her free time, Lorah loves kayaking, hiking, and going to the beach. Spending time outdoors is one of her favorite things, partly why she loves being a high school athletic trainer.
Cassidy Hydes-MS, LAT,ATC

Cassidy Hydes, originally from Hobe Sound, Florida, has always had a strong connection to sports and movement. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida before moving to Pensacola to complete her Master’s in Athletic Training at the University of West Florida. She now lives in Alabama, where she works as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the high school setting in Gulf Shores.
At Nexus Sports Medicine, Cass serves as the Social Media Manager, leading content creation, managing day-to-day social platforms, and supporting ambassador programming alongside Maria. She is also one of the familiar faces of Nexus at conferences across the country and serves as a main point of contact for Southeastern conferences, helping connect athletic trainers to the brand both online and in person.
Outside of work, Cass embraces her Caribbean roots by spending as much time in the sun and near the water as possible. She enjoys playing and watching sports, line dancing, attending concerts, and reading.
Martha Yost

MJ grew up outside of Cincinnati and played each and every sport her parents would sign her up for. Through sports medicine classes in high school, she found her passion for assisting and encouraging athletes and began to pursue the life of an ATC. She received her Bachelor's in Exercise Science at Bowling Green State University and Master's of Athletic Training at Oklahoma State University. She now works at a D2 University in Rome, GA and is excited to see where else in the world the profession takes her. MJ works as part of the customer support and fulfillment staff for Nexus responding to emails about exchanges, warranties, tracking info, and other frequently asked questions! Although she's primarily behind the screen, you may see her at various conferences throughout the year.In her freetime, MJ loves to remain active exploring new cities, hiking, running, or riding horses. Her favorite indoor hobbies include reading, line and country dancing, and playing guitar.
Maya Gough

Maya is born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She wanted to be in healthcare since she was a child and had an immense passion for sports. She played soccer growing up and loved the idea of supporting athletes through injuries. This led to her career as an Athletic Trainer. She completed her master's degree at the University of Idaho and did clinical rotations in Salt Lake City, Utah and Nashville, Tennessee. She then moved to Tampa, Florida to begin her professional career in 2022. Recently, Maya moved back to Boise and has been enjoying the seasons and outdoor activities.
Maya's role at Nexus is fulfillment and distribution. She has been with the team since July 2025.
