FABRIC GUide
Every fabric we use for our products are selected with purpose and intent in mind. Keep in mind for every pro of a fabric, their will be a con. Make sure you read this guide in detail to keep you informed on making the decision to choose what is right for you.
Cordura Nylon
We consider Cordura nylon to be old faithful. Tried and true, it's been around for a long time and is considered the gold standard as a base fabric.
500D
500D is the happy balance and strength and weight featuring the polyeurathane coating with great ruggedness. It is a textured nylon for a natural spun-like appearance, with excellent resistance to fading, abrasion, rot and mildew. Quick drying, and highly water repellent. Dv2 and Nemesis batches from 2024/2025 use 500D Cordura nylon along with other pouches.
1000D
Thick, rugged, and durable. This fabric has polyurethane (PU) coating for added water resistance along with great abrasion resistance. It’s textured for a natural spun-like appearance, with excellent resistance to abrasion, rot and mildew. Quick drying, and highly water repellent. The first generation Deadbug and early iterations of the DV2 use 1000D Cordura nylon.
ECOPAK
Waterproof, durable and lightweight fabric with 100% recycled polyester and non-toxic DWR coating. Every yard of ECOPAK™ uses about 20 plastic bottles and saves one pound of carbon emissions compared to standard fabric. If you care about the environment, Ecopak is the way to go. This fabric also holds its color, which is why it’s primarily used for our bright colors.
EPX200
EPX200 is a laminate fabric comprised of the following layers: 200D 100% Recycled Polyester Face, 45° Blue CrossPly, 70D ripstop backing. Variants of the Nemesis, DV2, USP, Firefly, and Drone are made with this fabric. This fabric comes with the most color options available, so many of our bright colors have used this fabric. Colors we used with EPX200 are: Flamingo (shown above), Tropic Teal, Lemon Lime, Revel Red, and more to come.
EPX300RS
EPX300RS has a great texture with good stitch-holding and durability. It is made of the following layers: A tight 300d weave and 3mm (1/8”) ripstop grid for a more technical look, 45° CrossPly, 70D white ripstop fabric. As of now, the Glove Dispenser Pouch (Black) is the only product using this fabric.
X-PAC
High-performance fabric. Lightweight, durable, and 100% waterproof. Eco-friendly and carbon neutral. FYI the fabric being waterproof DOES NOT make a kit or pouch completely waterproof.
RX-30
The most balanced construction for performance in outdoor and urban applications, X-Pac® RX30 contains 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric. This fabric is mainly used for limited edition color bags and pouches. It is comprised of: DWR coating, 300 denier 100% recycled polyester face, black post-consumer recycled polyester X-PLY® at 22°, and 0.5 mil polyester film.
UX-10
UX10 is a super-light and exceptionally strong XPAC featuring a 3 layer construction: 100d Ultra-PE (UHMWPE) face fabric, aramid X-Ply, and 0.5 mil shiny polyester film backing. The super fine Ultra-PE weave and cire finish combine for a semi-translucent appearance. This fabric has only been used on small batches in the White Glove Dispenser and Mini Dispenser Pouches.
Hybrid Fabrics
High-performance fabric. Lightweight, durable, and 100% waterproof. Eco-friendly and carbon neutral. FYI the fabric being waterproof DOES NOT make a kit or pouch completely waterproof.
Black WRX
The most balanced construction for performance in outdoor and urban applications, X-Pac® RX30 contains 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric. This fabric is mainly used for limited edition color bags and pouches. It is comprised of: DWR coating, 300 denier 100% recycled polyester face, black post-consumer recycled polyester X-PLY® at 22°, and 0.5 mil polyester film.
Alpine wrx
UX10 is a super-light and exceptionally strong XPAC featuring a 3 layer construction: 100d Ultra-PE (UHMWPE) face fabric, aramid X-Ply, and 0.5 mil shiny polyester film backing. The super fine Ultra-PE weave and cire finish combine for a semi-translucent appearance. This fabric has only been used on small batches in the White Glove Dispenser and Mini Dispenser Pouches.
Choosing Your Fabric
So which fabric is right for you? It’s all about application and usage.
Most of our customer base prefers neutral colors (black, grey, or alpine) and most of our fabrics in these colors have great abrasion resistance.
If you love bright colors, our ECOPAK and X-PAC variants hold their color tone very well, but the trade off is the lower levels of abrasion resistance. If you purchase any of our bag models with the ECOPAK/X-Pac, you must know that you cannot be as rough with these fabrics the same way you could do with the Cordura/Hybrid fabrics.
Here’s a quick run-through on how to decide which fabric may be for you:
- Cordura Nylon: Best if you tend to beat up your bags/pouches, but the fabric only has a coating for water resistance.
- X-Pac: Great water resistance, lightweight, holds color well. NOT as abrasion resistant as Cordura.
- ECOPAK: Great water resistance, lightweight, holds color well. NOT as abrasion resistant as Cordura.
- Hybrid Fabric: The WRX series (Black/Alpine/Splatter) are the perfect medium is ruggedness and water resistance. The only downside is that it is not as lightweight as X-PAC or ECOPAK, but it has similar abrasion resistance to Cordura nylon.
